The Mark
The mark of The Gateway Magazine, was in need of becoming iconic once again aftera few decades of neglect, since the birth of the Museum of the Albemarle in 1967. The building in which the museum now serves its mission to the public from is home to an iconic feature of a full glass archway through which is prominately displayed North Carolina's state boat, the Shadboat. It was deemed uniaminously that this was the best symbol to represent as well the namesake of the publication.
The Publication
The Gateway Magazine, is the In-house Publication of the Museum of the Albemarle located in Elizabeth City, NC. Representing as a, "Beacon to visitors by land and sea", the magazine is a visible symbol and "Gateway to the Heritage" of the Albemarle Region of northeastern North Carolina. This geographic region represents one of the oldest tales of English Settlement in the New World with the now famous Lost Colony of Roanoke.
